75^th Annual Meeting and  Dinner

We invite you to help the credit union begin its celebration of its 75^th anniversary by attending the Deepwater Industries Annual Meeting and Dinner at 7 p.m. on January 29^th, 2010 at Masso’s Crystal Manor in Glassboro, New Jersey.  There are three great reasons to attend:

1.     Great Cause – Deepwater is member owned and run.  Our annual meeting is your opportunity to elect the board, learn about our successes and upcoming plans, and meet the board, the staff and socialize with your fellow members.

2.     Great Food - This year along with the Hors d’Oeuvres you will able to choose between Filet Mignon, Flounder stuffed with Crab or Chicken Cordon Bleu.

3.     Great Door Prizes – Lots of prizes with a surprise grand prize.  Last year’s grand prize winner went home with a high definition flat screen television.

Tickets are sale on a first come, first served basis and can be purchased either in person or by mail.  The cost of each ticket is $16.00* (that’s less then half of the actual value of each meal).  Please specify your dinner choice at the time you purchase your tickets.  Seating will be assigned at the time of your ticket purchase.  If you plan to sit with friends, we recommend that all needed tickets are purchased at the same time.

*A ticket does not need to be bought to attend the business meeting which will start at approximately 8 pm.

New Phone System

We have just installed a new phone system.  Our phone numbers have not changed, our main line remains (856) 299-1279 and the fax number is (856) 299-0287. 

The major change for our members is that our staff extensions have changed.  If you already know the extension of the staff member you want to speak with just add a 1 to their old extension.  For example, extenion 14 is now 114.  If you know the name of the staff member, press * when you call and you will have access to our online staff directory which can search by both first and last names.  Please let us know what you like and dislike about the new phone system so that we can serve you even better.

Getting to college is a big step.  Tuition, books and living expenses can add up.  Now Deepwater industries FCU can help directly with our EdAccess Private Student Loans.  Our EdAccess Private Student Loan is a low cost student loan to meet your education needs. Borrow as little as $2,500 or as much as $30,000 per year. Full loan and interest payments are deferred until 6 months after you graduate and you have up to 10 years to repay the loan.  Student Loan Benefits include:

• Competitive Interest Rates that are based on a combination of credit scores, GPA and how long till graduation.  With good grades, get even lower rates!
• 1% Interest Rate Reduction once you have repaid just 10% of the loan.
• 30 Day No-Fee Return Policy - Find a cheaper way, you can cancel the loan within 30 days of approval.
• Use for ALL Education Expenses - Tuition, room & board, books, computer, even past due tuition bills.
• Zero Fees or Low Fees (2% - 4%) based on repayment option selected — Borrower has the option to choose between making interest payments or a nominal $25 "Good Faith" payment towards the loan while in school
• Cosigner Release After 24 Payments – For those loans requiring a cosigner, the cosigner may be released from the loan once the loan is in repayment and the borrower has made just 24 on-time payments

A borrower also needs to be:

• a U.S. citizen or permanent resident*
• enrolled at least half-time in an approved school
• meet minimum credit requirements

Before you sign up for our loans make sure that you exhaust your federal loan programs options before applying for a private student loan. Federal loans will have better terms and lower interest rates when compared to private loans.

Accounts Insured up to $250,000 - Safe!  Sound!  Secure!

At Deepwater Industries FCU it is very safe.  Unlike the banks making all the negative headlines, your Credit Union did not invest in high risk securities tied to the sub prime market.  In addition, your savings and checking accounts are insured by the National Credit Union Administration up to $250,000 (currently until Dec. 31, 2013) and your IRA accounts up to $250,000.
